Unsupported Reinhold writes: Of course, Switchback is a "Must" on everybody's "Hero List".....I'm sure all list members will agree with that.?BTW.... you forgot to mention that Scott had me on his hero list.? And this loop record thing that you did is mind boggling.? It will be a hard one to break.....this record will be yours for years to come.??As for living on "Lara Bars" until the spring melt, I would highly recommend that you follow Tattoo Joe's?"Prestoked Calories" method instead.? It worked for him on the PCT so it is a field tested fail proof method to hunker down and survive a Sierra winter.? Bears have been using this "Prestocked calories" method since the beginning of time.??I noticed at the last KO that some of our hiker buddies also believe in restocking calories.?Boy, I would love to use the restocked calories method on another sub five unsupported JMT attempt but my wife?does not feed me enough to prestock calories.

Switchback replies: This brings up a good point.? This afternoon I will be challenging Mother Nature once again in the local mountains.? I will post an After Action Report when and if I get back.? As you know I only do the most challenging and macho hikes.? This is why I go solo most of the time with a?prestocked grubstake of foods.? Tonight alone in the high mountains should be really scary and weather challenging.? But we hiker trash usually pull through in good order with only a few battle scars.

I know everyone wishes me the best on this expedition.? If I don't pull through, then I just be another legend of the West.? Like Ed Abby and Norman Clyde, bury me in my favorite sleeping bag in a secret spot in the wilderness.? I thank you.
