[pct-l] JMT in October

Have some free time in October and was going to use some frequent  
flyer miles to get out of Alaska when the weather here is amenable to  
neither summer nor winter activities.  If the fire(s) allow, I was  
thinking of the JMT.  The high Sierra weather in October - as an  
Alaskan, mind you - seems pretty nice.  Any thoughts on such a plan?   
Is resupply absolutely necessary?  Doesn't sound like the usual  
resupply spots are open in October.  True?
