[pct-l] Keeping clean while backpacking

We met a SOBO couple on our recent section hike. The lady wore a t-shirt, which really upped the stink. We asked her what she did about the smell. Her reply, delivered in a lovely South Carolina drawl, "Ah use wipes, but Ah still smell like a boy."

Another thought to add to the great suggestions already given about staying odor-free -- the type of clothing makes a big difference, too. I recently switched from synthetic long underwear to Smartwool and I love the difference. I wore the ultralight Smartwool top pretty much day and night for at least a week without washing it (while in Oregon) and it still didn't stink. .
