[pct-l] Gaiters (& online PCT elevation profiler)

Many good suggestions regarding (short) gaiters - but I haven't seen any comments about calf-high gaiters...
One might also want to consider calf-high gaiters for the Sierra sections (at least in normal or high snow years), especially if one prefers to hike in shorts -
calf-high gaiters can help lessen the potential shin/calf abrasions from postholing in crusty "Sierra cement" and subsequent scrapes from hidden rocks...
