The weight of the microspikes depends too on the size needed. Mine weigh
in at a whopping 9 oz. They seem to be more than adequate for crossing
snow and ice...they CLAIM to be for multiple terrain. I've heard from
others who were doing the CDT this summer that had used them on other
trips, that they absolutely loved them, and that they were a nice
alternative to full on crampons and beat the heck out of those with the
coiled springs underneath, traction wise.
