Hi folks-- after a few days here in sunny Bishop I am choosing to go back to the trail where I left off. The snow is consolidating and melting a little, I have new rainpants, plenty of warm layers, and 10 days of food (can barley lift my pack), and hopefully enough determination to make this PCT SOBO dream a reality. I also found some awesome kym's maps for 98 cents a pop at the bookstore here, so I should be able to get out to the east side if another big storm hits. The PCT guidebook maps just don't seem to cover enough to create solid evac routes.
A big thank you to those who have pitched advice on snow and the desert water scene my way. Does anyone know anyone who will be on the JMT in the next 10 days? I am getting tiered of being alone, but I will channel Norman Clyde and truck along. In some way it is comforting to know there are NOBOs up in WA dealing with crazy weather too. Good luck to everyone out in the elements and stay warm! Sage
