Hiking repellent is quite easy to find just bring the help wanted section of the newspaper or some job applications spread around the perimeter of the campsite. Just beware of doing this around the kickoff since stampedes are common and innocent or not so innocent trail pirates tend to get injured in the melee. This hiking repellent tends to lose potency up around Washington. Another excellent repellent Ive had success with is a sign stating "Hungry hiker lost job needs food. God Bless." The sign is more effective after hikers have been out in the field a few months, and is worthless during the kickoff.
