Here ten more things you can do with your trekking poles.
 
10.  They extend your reach to that hanging bear bag.
9.  They can help form a splint.
8.  They make it look like you have real long arms when you wave them at bears or cats.
7.  You can use them to draw directional arrows in the dirt at that fork in the trail.
6.  You can suspend a hitch hiking sign between them..
5.  You can poke your still sleeping hiking partner with them when it is time to get up go.
4.  You can wave flags from them to to attract SAR.
3.  They are good for picking up litter.
2.  They form 2/3rds of a tripod.
And the #1 thing you can do with trekking poles...They make great arms for a snowman.
