Postholer is right, the Reds Mdw. horse corral, restaurant and store, which are at the end of the 
road, are within 400-500 feet of the JMT/PCT.

most thru-hikers divert into Reds Meadow. The PCT is about a mile south of 
Reds and the parking area is even less:
