BearVault has a purchase program for PCT thrus (used to be rentals, but no more as of late 2007)...

You could always donate it to the loan program after you're done with the canister.  ;-)  (Pick up a return shipping label from "L-Rod" when at Hiker Heaven in Agua Dulce)

Bearikade has rentals, but quite costly, IMHO - plus having to worry about logistics, also...

No other rental programs that I know of that will ship a canister to you on the trail - you must pick it up in person (though some can be mailed back) from locations well off the PCT or long after a canister is required...
