Just a general announcement:

Of the 4, PCT-Prep Snow Courses running this season, the first is just a week away.

There are 2-3 places still available in this free snow training 3-day weekend event held in Desolation Wilderness, South Lake Tahoe.

We will be teaching:

Route Finding over snow,
Self-arrest techniques with axes or Whippets,
snow travel over creeks and lakes and other hidden dangers,
snow camping and water collection, and
avalanche awareness and avoidance.

You will be testing your gear, food, and clothing systems prior to thru hike departure in similar snow conditions.


The other Course dates are,

March 20, 21, 22
March 27, 28, 29.

April 3, 4, 5 is closed.
