Just wanted to get word out to the Class of '09, and anyone else who is
interested, that I've updated our website www.hikerheaven.com and the
outcome of our transportation investigation.

After researching various transportation options to get hikers from Hiker
Heaven to shopping meccas like REI and Trader Joes (let's not forget
In-N-Out Burger), I've found what appears to be the most viable solution.
I've contacted our local Enterprise Rental Car, who rents vehicles of
various sizes including 15 passenger vans. The vans go for $129 per day, or
split 15 ways $8.60 per person, plus gas. This is about as cheap as I could
find. By my coordination of hikers-needing-rides with Enterprise, we can
arrange to have cars/vans delivered here - the rental to be paid for by one
of the hikers who is willing to take on the initial cost and subsequently be
reimbursed by fellow hikers. Drivers have to have a drivers license, credit
card, and be 25 or older. We can downsize the vehicle size to fit the
number of people for smaller trips. This takes Jeff and I out of the
liability loop, and should also help hikers get to the places they need to
go. The only downside I can think of is that whoever rents the vehicle will
probably have to drive people around all day. I was thinking limos would
have been hilarious, but they were just too pricey.

Well, that's it . . . let me know if you have any questions or comments.
