I just returned from a trip to Yosemite and VVR. The last 20 miles of the road to VVR are narrow and potholed but if you drive slowly and avoid the larger potholes, you should be fine. The last 2 miles is a dirt road that has severe ruts so go really slow over the washboard areas or you may bottom out. FYI, the last 20 miles will take you about 2 hours to complete but the views are stunning, you'll love it.
