Ahh...I completely forgot about the Yosemite Tour Bus!
 
That program also has a bus to/from Glacier Point & the Valley with 1-way &
round-trip availability.
 
Tickets for this bus ARE required...so don't get it confused with the YARTS
bus & think that U can pay the driver cash.  U have to WAIT IN LINE & buy a
ticket from the lil desk in Yosemite Lodge (?)...the line can get pretty
long and they show little concern about U missing UR bus...so please don't
show up expecting to get UR ticket in 5mins!  You will be disappointed!
Even if you buy a ticket online, I believe UR still required to pick it up @
that same desk...one time I got there about 15mins b4 my bus' expected
departure time...waited in line about 12mins...then I just had to get a lil
rude so they could hand me my ticket so I didn't miss my bus.  I was quite
disappointed with their customer service attitude...but the bus ride itself
was comfortable & cheap, so no complaints there.

5 pm YARTS bus from Yosemite Valley Visitors' Center goes to Mammoth Lakes,
with a stop at Tuolumne Meadows at 7:00 pm. Be advised that this bus is the
primary source of daily transportation for a lot of ML residents who work in
Yosemite Valley. Don't be late to the bus stop or you might not get a seat.
 
You do not need to hike 4 miles into Lyell Canyon after 7 pm unless you want
to do so. Stay in the TM campground instead. Reservations are not needed or
available for the Backpacker's camping area. It is first come, first served.
The BP's area is huge - about 18 large sites. If it's full, the rangers
encourage multiple tents in the same site so be prepared to share (or ask to
share) if that's the case.
 
 
There is also a Tuolumne Meadows Hikers' Bus running between TM and Yosemite
Valley.  It leaves Curry Village at 8 am, arriving TM store at 10:25 am.
Returning, it leaves the store at 2:05 pm, arriving Curry Village at  4:15
pm. Fare is $14.50 one way; $23 roundtrip. See
