[pct-l] Peanut butter and pole straps

Two dumb little questions:

1. What do you like to use to carry peanut butter in? I have used "jerry
tubes", which are toothpaste-like tubes that open at the bottom. You push
the pb out like toothpaste rolling up the bottom. Fine concept except when
its cold--we had a trip where we were at elevation for 4-5 days and could
not coax any pb out of the tube even from the large open end. Madding when
you are dying for some calories. Any better methods?

2. I see descriptions of packs that have hiking pole attachments to the
shoulder straps. Has anyone had experience with these? Are there any
companys selling them as add-on attachments? Every once in a while it would
be nice to stow one or both poles for a few mintues to have my hands free,
without having to take the pack off.

Thanks.

Herb
