1) How patient do I have to be, to predict this summer's meltout?

2) I would like to hike from Sierra City, CA to Ashland, OR (or sobo) in 30 days. I would like to know the best time and the earliest time for this section.
Most of the pack hits it after July 4 and spends the heat of the summer in northern CA. Would starting earlier be better?

3) I would like to be off the trail June 19 or June 25 at the latest until June 30. Would May 18 until June 19 be way too early for northern CA?

4) If I want to get some of the trail out of the way and then take the last week or weekend of June off, where in northern CA should I get off and on the trail?
