About the wood stove. I used one for a while on the PCT. There's
always fuel everywhere. No problem there. It's smelly and messy,
though. And my stove was a commercial Zip stove, so it was bulky. I
switched to an alcohol stove.

I used the Etowah stove, a favorite of AT hikers. I bought it on the
AT. Yep, I actually hiked about 2 miles of the AT to Blood Mountain.
Got the T-Shirt to prove it.

I ain't clever enough to build a stove. But now that I know how the
Etowah is made, I can make my own.
