It also occurs to me that after catching, cleaning, cooking and eating a fish, I might smell like a fish... to a bear.  Although I plan to sleep at least an hour's hike from where I eat, if I reek of fish, I could have an unwelcome midnight visitor.  Perhaps this a a good reason to rethink fishing?  But don't people go into the Sierras just to fish?  I wonder how do they handle this problem.  Any thoughts?
