I wouldn't worry about attracting heat in that shirt. Chances are if you are wanting to put it on it's b/c you're chilly to begin with! My second layer is black also, but not b/c it looks cool. It's b/c it won't look dirty as easy! lol
I actually have that dry clime catalyst shirt and I love it...it's completely windproof, where just the dryclime is not. I will probly bring it along as well. It's really light weight and makes a good baselayer too. The men's is only 5 oz.
