Hi, Eric,

Obviously in your experience, boots have been an issue which I'm happy that
you have resolved.

I am still wearing the heaviest leather boots Vasque or Asolo gave me on my
1980 CDT trip. Resoled once and oiled often, they are comfortable for me,
give me great support and protection, and never an injury other than my own
stupidity. This type of shoe works for me and the style of hiking I like to
do, "camper vs. hiker," the weight I carry, and the dependability I rely
upon. I like 'em, but they're not for everybody-like going 30 miles per day.
