[pct-l] Ice Axe on Amtrak

As I commute thru Union Station in LA every work day, I asked them yesterday and they said, "No" to carrying it on attached to your pack, but added it shouldn't be any problem to bring it along inside the pack or a box or such.? Just keep it out of site, is what they require.? YMMV.
