There's a big drop off right here in Warner Springs (mile 110)

Use to be a much bigger percentage of hikers dropping off the trail here. 
Almost every case was foot problems.  Usually what I saw was a person not 
wearing shoes a size and a half to two sizes bigger than their normal size.
Since the word has been out more to wear bigger shoes, fewer hikers drop off 
the trail here.

Shoe size appears to be the number one killer here.

Too many miles on unconditioned feet works its way in there too.
