Staying is Stehekin is great too and what I'll do this year.

Last year I stayed both at the Ranch and at the motel.

When you do either the bus rides are all free.

The ranch has an AYCE breakfast and dinner and a you make your own sack 
lunch included with the price of your stay.
I think there were seven kinds of homeade pie for desert.  Laundry included.
Owner Cliff Cortney (owned by the Cortney family along with the rest of 
Stehekin)seems to  personally talk to every single guest to make sure you 
get the most out of your Stehekin visit.  He's very interested in hiking and 
gear.  They sell gear.
Food and service at the restaurant near the boat landing were outstanding. 
Those working the restaurant seemed to love what they do.
Everyone I encountered was very hiker friendly.

Adell in the Post Office does need our help in making things easier.  They 
haven't given her an easy setup to work with.

Free campground
Coin showers and laundry.
Internet.
