Good afternoon, John,
You might consider telling your doctor that you plan to hike strenuously 12
hours a day for an extended period of time, while drinking 8-10 liters of
water a day then show him/her a photo of your clothes stiff and white with
dry, crusted salt. It is likely the probability of hypotonic
dehydration outweighs
the risk of eventual hypertension.
