Well, as someone who has hiked trails behind VERY large pack outfits working in the National Forests, I think it would be an improvement if there were some sort of rules to control the shear amount of horse/mule waste that can end up on a trail at times.



Apparently the stock like to lighten up as they climb trails and a few years ago we were behind a string of 20+ animals. Quite literally there was nowhere else to step except in fresh patties. Our nice mountain weekend turned into a smelly barn experience. We finally did pass them while they were stopped at a lake, but man that was a nasty 5 miles.
