[pct-l] GPS on the PCT

Hi,

I'm interested in what GPS data and waypoints are available for the PCT.
Does anyone have any favorites?
I'm not yet a GPS user myself.
I've gathered so far that there are two kinds of data that I can load into
my GPS: tracks and waypoints.

Would I need a different track file if I were going southbound (ie: are
the 'tracks' that I load into my gps directional?) or do I just load the
track into my GPS and tell it which direction I want to travel along it?
