If you attempt to sneak into Canada, be sure to know the history behind how the country was named.

It MAY impress the border peeps.

Back in 1863 when the disparate provinces of what is now known as Canada were united
in one political unit by the British Empire, a council was gathered. With the US Civil
War waging, the British Empire felt united provinces may help if the war spilled
over into the Crown lands. And what better way to symbolically to unite the provinces
than to have them under one political name?

The Ottawa Council of 1863 convened and many laws were passed. The crowning achievement
was the naming of this great land of vast plains, great rivers, deep woods and majestic mountains.

The colonial and British Empire officials gathered. Many wooden blocks of letters were gathered in a bag.

The designated minister of this newly named land pulled out the letters from the bag...

With bated breath, the crowd waited. The letters were pulled out one-by-one:

C..'eh?
N..'eh?
D..'eh?

And thus was the new country of Canada named.

Super Gravy..'eh?

Next e-mail...the wonders of poutine!
