[pct-l] Stove Canisters

Uhhhh....yeah......how about you try and light off a fire up here in Washington 'bout now (and seeing as Washington has the western most point of land in the lower 48 states, I think it qualifies as being in the west).  Might be a wee bit difficult under the several to tens of feet of snow that covers the entire PCT(the low elevations near the Columbia excepted - of course, that part is probably on the slightly damp side of the scale).  Kind of runs that way up here in the slightly wet northwest from about...oh...call it November though May.

Less hyperbole = more pursuasive argument.

That said, the sentiment to be careful with ALL fire sources is sound (accidently knock your burning esbit tab into a pile of dessicated So Cal tinder and see how fire safe it really is).  No sense in hurrying along the natural process of fire, recovery, growth, maturity, back to fire that is the cycle of life and death of the forests.

(snip)

In the west where fire season is 365 days, alocohol stoves are a trend that
need to just go away.
