I love my Jetboil and here's why: granted, it weighs a bit more than some alcohol stoves but it is very compact and boils 2 cups of water very quickly. If you're using dehydrated food, you should be happy with it's performance. I would have to say a lot depends on what kind of food you intend to cook on the trail and the weight you're willing to carry.
