[pct-l] Carrying a SPOT for the rest of us

The Spot is less useful on the AT for the same reason AT hikers don't
wear sunglasses or use sunscreen much.

They refer to the AT as the long green cave.
The Spot needs unblocked sky to work. It isn't that the Spot doesn't
work, but you have to find a clearing.
