Whitney had only 5% of normal Precip. that year.  The 
Sierra is hurting for water

I have no idea about southern CA but northern is in a big hurt. We are going into our fourth year of draught. Our ranchers are really in trouble. The whole northern state is dry. And, as usual, if this continues, the fire season for 2010 will again be very scary.

Don't me to be "the sky is falling" but just commenting on what's what.
