The event is happening right now. Here in South Lake Tahoe it is cold and 
showering at 6800 where I work. The locals say that it is supposed to be 
snowing up at high elevations. After that, summer weather is supposed to 
come back in for a while.

We are planning a trip PCT section hike from Echo Lake to Virginia Lakes 
(just north of Tuolumne) from Aug 10 to Aug 20 but I haven't heard anything 
about the cold front. Can you elaborate on the forecast and pass on your 
source if possible?
