Well, 09-ers, good luck on your upcoming thrus, sections or day trips on the trail.

I just wanted to point out a great hiker food to all of you.....well, not exactly a great food to take hiking, but more for those town stops.

See, I was doing a bit of baking last night for the family gathering tomorrow and realized I was making a super high calorie desert.

Lets see, some of the ingredients include.....1 cup heavy cream, 1 cup sugar, 4 eggs, 1 1/2 pounds cream cheese, some lemon zest and juice, into the crust (which isn't slacking in calories either)

Lemon Cheesecake.    mmmmm..... over 500 calories per slice of creamy goodness (by my calculations - assuming 8 slices, and that's before any drizzle over the top).

When in trail towns, it's best enjoyed after a huge dinner (steak in my case) and with a glass of good wine - an amazing super high calorie, tasty desert to wrap up a day of hiking into town.

I have fond memories of doing just this in Tahoe after the particularily grueling stretch coming up from KM.
