What kind of pollen? There were lots of wildflowers last year almost  
all the time. And it is oak pollen season during the time you'll be  
in southern california. I'd keep the Claritin handy at least at  
first. It really is quite dry and arid much of the time, and it's not  
like you're walking through city streets with all those foreign  
plants, so it may not be as bad as where you are from.

Remember, everyone, for everything you bring and don't need there is  
a post office coming along soon, and for everything you need and  
didn't bring there's a store or Internet connection coming along  
soon. Hiking the PCT isn't going to the moon. Relax and enjoy!
