[pct-l] fishing

Good morning, JJ,
Following is the bias opinion of someone who is not a hard-core angler.
There is some good fishing water along the PCT, but very few thru-hikes
carry fishing gear. The hikers I see with fishing gear are usually section
or day hikers. Fishing gear is added weight with questionable benefit.
Fishing permits are also a problem with three states to consider. Sometimes
one-day or weekly permits are issued at less expense, but timing and
availability can be unpredictable.

Subject: [pct-l] fishing
just wanted to know if it's worth bringing a small collapsible fishing rod
on a pct thru hike. are there enough spots on the trail so as to not regret
bringing it along?
