While we didn't go look at the Russell Cr crossing, we did get info from one Northbound thru hiker who said that she walked across it on a snow bridge. Didn't mention how the water flow was. I would be pretty reluctant to trust a snow bridge this time of year but I don't have a lot of experience with them either.
This was on Thursday, Aug 28th.
We got water at Breitenbush Campground with the permission of the local Confederated Tribes folks who were camping there. Excellent piped spring water just south of the campground. That's as far north as we went. Good stream water also at the North edge of Jefferson Park, and of course lots of lakes in the park.
Couple of minor snowfields just north of Jefferson Park but the snow was soft in the afternoon and the walking was pretty easy.
Bring your warm clothes!
