[pct-l] planning section hike in the sierras

I am planning a section hike through the sierra and possible farther north.
I do not want to deal with to much snow. what is a good starting time
starting from sequoia national park. Is another option for me to start north
and hike down the sierras. could i avoid some snow this way? I have from
june until august 15-20 as a hiking time.
