My daughter had , ' jungle juice ' . for mosquitoes . We ran into ' swarms ' in early July in the Sierra at Vogelsang ( High Camp ) , especially . I don ' t have the bottle here to say where it came from but likely REI would know if they don ' t actually carry it . Is 100% deet . A little ' splash' always did the trick ( but do not get on nylon , other such type clothes . ) Too , as to mosquitoes , east or west - we ( east ) tend to have more all season long as we are wet versus the dry west . At elevation amongst the melting ice and snow though , I know there is plenty of wet . I speak as a general rule . Only once have mosquitoes driven me indoors . That was in Canada on a warm and still summer night on the St Lawrence River and we , as many have described around the world . . .  fled . And , of course , we have black flies . Argh . In my opinion there is nothing worse . Rafter Jack
