[pct-l] Pct-l Digest, Vol 11, Issue 30

When I worry about safety, I (and many others) am mainly concerened about
injury, e.g. broken leg, ankle. If you have companions, they can summon
help, while you wait. (That has happened.) On the other hand, on the PCT in
most places most of the year, you wouldn't have to wait very long for
someone to come along --- 24 hours tops. I think injury, weather, and
getting lost are the main concerns. There is also injury from snakebite or
bears that I used to worry about, but those are very rare and usually are
the result of very stupid (usually the result of being uninformed) behavior.
