Well, Jason, it was there but I only used it to access very infrequently used items from the very bottom of my GG Nimbus Meridian.  Above that I had a trash compactor bag inside which I packed my down sleeping bag and clothes stuff sack as insurance that they'd stay dry.  I never had any problems with the zipper if that's a concern you have.  Hope this helps.  Rick "Handelbar" Ostheimer
