I recently picked up an issue of July 1936 Sunset Magazine that has a three 
page story about the Pacific Crest Trail. I also have a couple books from 
that era, one by Clinton Clarke and the other by Warren Rogers, and have 
posted them on my "Vintage PCT Gallery". Scroll down to the bottom of the 
gallery to see the last seven photos that show the 1936 story and books.
