Reports the owner opened up Mt. Waterman ski resort Friday night and 14 hikers stayed.
I am guessing the facilities at the top of the lift were opened, 800 ft elevation gain? from Hwy2,
since hearsay is "snow cat access".
http://postholer.com/gmap/gmap.php?trail=pct&lat=34.349212&lon=-117.928705&zoom=15&vw=3& is the bottom of the lift on Hwy2. about 1.5 mile west
  from mile 386.5 on Hwy2.

Another resource is about two miles SE of where the PCT leaves Hwy2 at Three points
Newcombs Ranch on Hwy 2. phone 626.440.1001
