Slow to act, under-manned and under-equipped, Cal-fire just watched this fire for the first few days to see what would happen.  I could have told you what would happen, what always happens, it will spread until someone puts it out.  I understand about letting nature do its thing and I know that we need more controlled burns, but come on guys, I am tired of hiking through burned out forests.  Policy and response needs an overhaul, me thinks.  But that's just me, friend of tree and surreal.  What forests would Smokey the Bear let burn?
