[pct-l] Water Report Update from Disco (5-16-08)

Here's a water report update:

Mile 317.0 - Pipe Spring Before Grass Valley Creek (5-12-08) : Good Water, Flowing Nicely

Mile 332.8 - Small Stream (5-13-08) : Good Water, Flowing Nicely

Mile 335.6 - Little Horsethief Canyon (5-13-08) : small trickle in stream, looks grungy, would work if desperate

Mile 347.4 - Swarthout Cny Cache (5-14-08) : cache is now 100 yards SOUTH of the dirt road (Swarthout Canyon Rd.) on the trail.  There was 2 gallons here when we left the cache at noon and we heard a rumor that 20 gallons was added later in the day.  Water could go fast.

Mile 347.9 - Bike Spring (5-14-08) : The block water sump is about 1/2 full and is brownish.  Lots of bees.  Might be able to filter out of here if desperate but don't count on it.

Mile 349.5 - (5-14-08) : We saw what looked like a newish trail cut down to the canyon where there may be a spring.  Don't know for sure.

Mile 364.6 - Guffy Campground (5-15-08) : Great water but the side trail down to the spring box house is steep.
