Tobacco or weed?  At least with the latter there would be some excuse for this amazing act of stupidity!  Give me a break.  This is one of the driest, windiest and most difficult sections of the trail in SoCal.  Why in the world would anyone feel it appropriate to light up.  My goodness, I would enjoy the chance to confront the day hiker, section hiker or thru hiker that made such a decision.  Talk about a lack of responsibility.
