A single-season thru ride is one of the most logistically challenging of all
endeavors. Nobo, it is difficult, but possible. I would venture than
unless your horse is an endurance horse and can do big miles, and you have
absolutely peerless support to get feed to your appointed waypoints, a sobo
thru-ride is really not feasible, especially in a season like this one where
there is so much snow up north.

Subject: [pct-l] SoBo Thru-ride
Hello All,
I'm getting the distinct inpression that completing a SoBo Thru-ride in
one season is not logistically possible. Is my estimation correct? It just
seems like there are certain snowy sections in Washington that will not
allow passage with a horse until well into summer--at which point there will
not be enough time to get through the Sierras. Any thoughts?
Hans
