Naahhh Tortoise,......it won't work.
He will ambush you and ransack you before you get a chance to set up, 
load and fire that cannon.
A flame thrower is the only thing that will work on that pirate.
You scorch his rear end once and he will run like a rabbit and hide in 
the bushes whenever he sees you coming down the trail with that flame 
thrower.
Trust me on that....one scorching is all that it will take.
