Eagles "Peaceful, Easy Feeling" is pretty powerful.
Guy who wrote it lives here.  Must be this desert he's talking about.

  I agree Monty, the desert is beautiful and really the only place I cowboy camped! I only heard about one person and a scorpion, that was in 2004 around Scissors Crossing, but it was hearsay so....

  I used a tent mostly to keep the mosquitoes away from me, oh and those biting fly things, oh and the ants! California is one big ant colony, well not really, it just feels that way<smile>!! Other than that, I never really gave snakes, scorpions or other big nasties much of a thought. Go, enjoy and try cowboy camping in the desert, nothing like waking up to a gorgeous sunrise in the desert!!!
