[pct-l] packaging an ice ax

Ice axe packaging has been hilarious and varied in what we've seen a Hiker
Heaven. Some of the mailing businesses will custom make a box for you (if
you have the time and resources to do that).

"Can anyon talk about how they packaged their ax for mailing from/to the
trail?"

I have a 55 cm axe, which isn't that long --- fits inside a box of other
stuff I'll be sending to KM, so no special box required.

I do, of course, need to make sure that my resupply box sent to Echo Lake is
big enough to send home various stuff, including the axe ...

The connecting-two-boxes-together approach you already mentioned can work
fine too.
