During my AT thru, I went through four sets of Aquamira....and crushed one by stepping on it at a party. Yes, that's true.
 
I'm banking on having five sets for the PCT this year.
 
Part A ALWAYS runs out before Part B, I don't know why.
 
The containers are crushed somewhat easily....they can form cracks along the four corners, especially in the sun over time. I wrap them together, as a set of two, with two layers of duct tape. (Yes, that' extra weight, but whatever.) I then draw part A and Part B on the duct tape, so I know which is which. This provides a bit more sturdy container, and you always have both parts together with you...wherever you put them in your pack or pockets. 
 
Also, take a cap off of one of your extra containers to put on the Part B container...then you have two caps to mix in. I've also used the actual screw on tops, as well as the caps, to mix in.
That way you can have four sets going at once, if needed.
